Congratulations to Nolanda Dodd for winning the MU football tickets from the employee United Way campaign raffle! She said she's only ever been to one game in her life and they were in the nosebleed seats so she's going to enjoy this.
I'm also pleased to announce that Jaime Freidrichs, Director of our MO Women's Business Center was a finalist for the Columbia Tribune Women in Business Awards in the category of Professional Excellence. Congratulations Jaime!
I know there is a cloud hanging over CMCA as we plan for our agency post-MWA. Angela and I will be meeting with MERS Goodwill, the new contractor, next week to lay the groundwork for a transition. We are going to do everything we can to highlight the quality of our staff. I expect that most of our staff will get hired by them. In the coming weeks I'll share more specifics about the process and what to expect.
In the meantime, I was cheered this week by some truly impressive activities. Jackie Rivera and company facilitated a team building activity at Division D (an advertising agency in Columbia) in exchange for supplies and donations to the Pregnancy Crises Fund AND found out the PCF got a $2,000 grant from Home State Health. Incredible!
I also attended an event to pamper the BRIDGE teachers and got my nails done in the process. The Policy Council also oriented new members last night.
I know there are amazing things happening all over the place and you all are making amazing contributions. Let me know if there's something you'd like me to highlight in the future.
Have a great weekend and GO TIGERS! M-I-Z
